B&ISavvy launched in 2024 as a sister company to 7aSavvy, extending the same lender matching approach into the USDA Business & Industry loan space. We saw that rural business owners faced a unique challenge: the B&I program offers some of the best loan terms available, but finding a lender who actively participates in the program and knows how to navigate it efficiently is harder than it should be. B&ISavvy was created to solve that problem.

Meet Brett Smith

Brett Smith is the founder and CEO of B&ISavvy, a lender matching platform built specifically for USDA Business & Industry loan borrowers. With more than three decades in commercial lending, Brett has been involved in over $1 billion in small business loans – and USDA B&I lending has been a core focus throughout his career.

During his 20 years on the lender side, Brett held senior roles at multiple nationally ranked lending institutions, including co-founding a Northwest community bank. As an executive, he led a lender’s B&I program to become the largest USDA B&I lender in the country – an achievement rooted in his deep understanding of the program’s mechanics, the USDA’s requirements, and what makes a B&I loan work for both borrower and lender.

For the past 15 years, Brett has focused on the brokering side, using his extensive lender network and firsthand B&I experience to connect rural business owners with the right financing. B&ISavvy was created to bring that same expertise online, giving borrowers a faster, smarter path to the right B&I lender.

How long does it take B&ISavvy to match me with a lender?

In most cases, we’ll match you with a lender within 24 hours of reviewing your submission. If we need additional information or clarification, it may take a bit longer depending on how quickly you respond.

What information does B&ISavvy need to match me with a lender?

We need basic details about you (contact information, relevant experience), the business (type, location, overview), and the loan (size, use of proceeds, property details). Our Get Connected form covers all of this in a few minutes.

Will B&ISavvy stay involved after connecting me with a lender?

Yes. We remain available throughout the loan process to answer questions, provide guidance, and help facilitate communication between you and the lender if needed.

What if things don’t work out with my lender?

If the match isn’t the right fit for any reason, let us know and we’ll connect you with another lender from our network.
